Verso: "The Confederates were in possession of Funkstown, and with one battery shelled our forces on the left and right, while infantry engaged our advance which did not go beyond the crest of the hill. No 'rebs' can be seen in this view. // July 10th/63 // [signed] C.C.H.B."
